Brrrr from chilly Speldhurst.

After a truly wonderful summer retreat in Wilderness, South Africa it is back to the English mid winter.  Socks,  log burners, tea and digestives……….

Although I have been to South Africa before, I have never been to Wilderness.  What a truly magical place.  Bigger than a village and smaller than a town, it seemed to have everything that we needed.  Although we had some rain,  the weather was wonderful.  To be bare sleeved in T shirts and not to think about jumpers and coats was such a treat.  A really good dose of Vitamin D was received.

Our Yogis were enormous fun.  We started the day with a guided meditation at 7.30am followed by Yoga taught by Jade at 8.30am on the deck.  We were surrounded by trees, butterflies and had a magical view of the sea.  I taught the evening class usually around 5.30pm.  We had excursion day every other day.  As this is Jade’s home land, we were blessed with her guide trips which included visiting an Ostrich Farm, the Cango Caves.  A boat trip around Knysna.  Paragliding.  A complete stunning day of canoeing to a waterfall and wild swimming.  Just to name a few.  The trip was 10 days.

For me one of the most joyous part of the trip was feeling so close to nature.  There is so much available at your finger tips and such choice!!  The locals were friendly and food delicious.

Jade and I will definitely be running February 2019.  We already have request for bookings and we are excited to start planning.  Watch this space for additional news.

After Christmas I ventured to Herefordshire to attend my first Vipassana 10 day silent retreat.  It was a truly wonderful experience.  I was very nervous because it was a big ask of going into the unknown.  It was testing but unbelievably rewarding.  I was looked after with delicious vegetarian food and comfortable surroundings to meditate.  The center was purpose built so beautifully equipped to surrender to the experience.  I couldn’t recommend it enough.

As I write this, Spring is definitely trying to force its way through my garden.  Its just light at 5.30pm and the days are noticeably longer which is a delight to witness.  This winter I have really come to appreciate the time to honour the season and roll with the dark mornings and dark evenings.  Sleep more and gather energy.

I am busy offering deeply restorative healing sessions, involving Micro Systems Acupuncture, LED Light Therapy and an abundance of Reiki.  Come and experience for yourself and have ‘A Winter MOT’.

Keep warm and stay flu free.

With Love and Light
