Summer 2020 Newsletter

Welcome back !!! I have missed you all.  It certainly has been a very extraordinary period but now we are integrating ourselves back to the real world and all that comes with it.  Please check out on the news page the COVID – 19 Safety Policy that’s now in place.

I have been working a lot with the magic of the moon cycles which seems to have readjusted my balance and I look forward to delving deeper into Lunar Living.

Summer Solstice took a virtual turn as obviously it was not possible to celebrate with friends.  However I drew and coloured a mood board.  One side with ‘letting go and the other with ‘letting in’. Here at the peak of this active solar energy, a transformation and alchemy takes place.  The active principle now fires up the inner journey, bringing spiritual rebirth and completion of our whole selves.  Celebrate the death and rebirth of the great cycle of the year.  As the power of the outer realms wane, the power of the inner realms will expand and we are made whole.

I got up at 3.30am and made my way to Penshurst Place, which was the highest point I could think off.  The weather wasn’t great so my expectations were low of actually seeing too much.  What a wonderful surprise I was in for…….. It was truly magical.  I then walked for an hour and enjoyed the peace and the bird song.

So another phase has started.  My focus is on Mental Health.  This is a period where there is a lot of uncertainty and it going to be vital to keep up our immune systems in tip top shape and to find some spiritual practice to shake off any residing fear, anxiety, anger and depression.

I am offering 20% of ALL treatments for July and August.  Please email at www.sarahclifford.co.uk or call on 079412671819

With love and light

Sarah

CANCELLED Yoga in the Hargate Forest.

Due to Coronavirus these events have been postponed and I will advise dates for 2021 in due course.

After the class, we stay on to take a restorative walk through the trees and then head off for brunch at The Deer Park Café wwwthedeerparkcafe.co.uk. It’s advisable to book.

Sunday 14th June – 10am-11am
Sunday 12th July – 10am-11am
Sunday 16th August – 10am-11am

Join me for an hour of Hatha Yoga in the woods. Suitable for all abilities. £12 per adult, booking is essential. You will be asked to fill out a short online Health Questionnaire as you go through the booking process; therefore it is only possible to book one place per person.

Yoga is ideally suited to the outdoors:

  • A recent Swedish study found viewing nature, especially fractals (the organically occurring patterns in tree branches and fern leaves for example), increased wakeful relaxation and internal focus – two very important components of a rewarding yoga practice.
  • Nature connects us to our roots. Spending time in nature can replenish depleted energy.
  • Natural scenery can heighten awareness.
  • Practicing yoga in a new environment can build confidence.
  • The outdoors can further boost meditation’s benefits.

Every class will include focused breath work, postures and meditation.

About Hargate Forest: Located at the southern edge of Tunbridge Wells on the Kent/East Sussex border. It is part of the High Weald, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. See https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/visiting-woods/woods/hargate-forest/ for details about the wood and directions.

SPRING UPDATE 2020

After what seems to have been a very long wet winter, spring is definitely around the corner………….

Yippee, it’s so up lifting to wake up to light, bird song and sometimes sunshine.

This weekend I am back to Forest of Dean to attend an advanced Eco Mapping workshop with Mandy Pullen. This term is best described as an eco shamanism healing technique with an emphasis on nature and the middle world. Eco Mapping asks that the client seeks healing ‘outdoors’ directly through nature with the practitioner gently guiding and holding space for the client. It predominantly relies on oracular methods such as omens and divination and the use of the five senses as the connecting feed to our sixth sense of spirit. This time of year is very timely to undertake such a journey, setting the intention of new beginnings, being encouraged to make changes from mother nature and all that it brings. If anyone out there that feels stuck and needs a fresh reboot, please give me a call to book.

Thoughts for this season…

I think it’s important at this time to concentrate on building up one’s immunity. Walking outside, taking supplements, eating well plus have adequate rest.

This year the Spring Equinox falls about March 20th 21st. It’s quite a bit earlier than usual. Observe nature around you……

March full moon is called ‘The Full Worm Moon’

Watch the arc of the Sun across the sky as it shifts toward the north.

Birds are migrating northward, along with the path of the Sun.

Notice that the days are getting longer. Increased sunlight is a trigger for the birds to sing.

Can you feel the Sun getting stronger?

March is time to start gardens and sow seeds

Try some Spring recipes for extra vim and vigour.

Freya Davies

Freya is a hedge-walking herbalist living alongside the River Wye in Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.

Her work stems from a deep connection with the natural world, fed and nurtured by a childhood roaming the countryside, picking wild foods and now connecting with hedgerow plants and trees as a sensory herbalist.

I have seen the wonderful continual results of the protocol used weekly at the Al Manaar Mosque in North Kensington to deliver the NADA protocol every Tuesday morning in aid to the victims of the Grenfell Fire. It’s an honour to be part of the healing.

I am also currently delivering this protocol at The Hospice in the Weald in Pembury, Tunbridge Wells to in-patients and out-patients.

The NADA treatment generally induces a state of relaxation and better energy – it has a balancing and homeostatic effect on the patient enhanced by the unique group setting.

Winter 2019 Update

Welcome the festival of Samhain, held from October 31st. This is the beginning of true winter, ‘The dark half of the year’. It is said that during this period the veil is at its thinnest, and that barriers between the physical world and spirit break down, allowing more interaction between the human and spirit world. It is common for big decisions/changes to be acted out during this period. It is also time for rest and recuperation. It’s time to charge ones battery, sleep more, rest more, read more. Quiet time…

It is a beautiful autumn with the most vibrant colours. All the leaves are gently dropping. A great time to walk and to activate ones senses. You can really smell this time in its air. It is also a good time to observe ones spiritual practice and self care. Make some adjustments and some changes to suit you and to enrich your day. Autumn to me is all about change. It’s like going back to school to a fresh year with new beginnings ahead.

After a wonderful fun filled summer, I am so enjoying this time of reflection and integration of the recent months. Summer is always so Yang, fast, hot, loud. Now comes the Yin, slow, peaceful, quiet – an opportunity to head deep inside and reflect.

In October I treated myself to a workshop in Spain. Shamanic Trance Dance with Zelia Pye www.shamictrancedance.global A wonderfully held space in which to truly let go and welcome deep healing. I will definitely be returning.

Work continues well and new exciting things are coming up for 2020.

Qualified Eco Shamanic Practitioner

Eco represents ‘Earth’. As we enter this new century, it is becoming more and more necessary to see ourselves as Earth, to see, hear, touch, taste and feel ourselves ‘as’ Earth rather than being ‘on’ it.

To really connect with our five senses. To wake up our sixth senses. Our spiritual guide within us. Ecology is the study of interactions among organisms and their environment. Shamanism is an ancient cross cultural technique used to access the spirit world in order to gain healing, information and advice in our daily lives.

Eco Shamanism helps bring the world of spirit and our sensate world into a closer communion. Eco Shamanic healing is dependent on the ‘more human world or beings’. It is a process whereby we take our problems, questions and concerns out into nature and work directly in the Middle World.

There are a range of practices and techniques which accompany this work – the most important having the ability to commune with nature with our six senses. This relies on opening our hearts to the truths that are reflected back to us from ‘becoming the earth’. It is a fundamental understanding that people are an integral part of the natural world and every earthly form is animated by its own soul or life force.

A person may feel the need to use shamanic work to heal a physical, emotional or spiritual trauma or to find a new direction or a feeling of need to connect more strongly with Spirit. Clients are taken on a journey of discovery. The principle purpose is to assist find ones ‘Spirit lead path’.

Extraction Medicine
This is a method of healing that can remove any Spiritual blockages that are causing problems within the body. This could be manifesting emotionally, physically or psychologically. You don’t have to aware of when they were picked up but this happens in a variety of ways including direct confrontation. The removal of these blockages can help clear space for the return of soul essences. Following the removal, a power animal is retrieved in order to act as a protective in assisting spirit.

Soul Retrieval
People feel sometimes that ‘something is missing’. They have little energy or no lust for life. Dissociated in some way. This form of healing allows soul essences that have been lost during previous life traumas (accidents, grief, shock, abuse etc) to return to their body. It is a very nurturing way of resorting balance in the body that can empower a person, so they feel solid in themselves and now that they truly belong here. It is often described as a feeling of coming home again.

Distance Healing
All the above shamanic healings can be undertaken using distance healing. This is carried out tuning into the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual energy of the client.

Divination Healing
Oracular work using tools to foresee the future based on the present or past. Helps us see what’s going on in our lives, families, and business. We see how the past has shaped the present and how current actions can shape the future, including magical and spiritual efforts.

Eco Mapping
Stitching our inside stories into the outside world and letting the outside world stitch its stories into our inside world. Spirit healing for humans using perception and perspective . Taking a guided walk in nature, using omens and metaphors creating new maps. ‘Greater part of the soul is outside of the body’. Create new maps by encountering spirit in our outer environment as a direct reflection of ones inner spirit using our senses to receive direction.

End of Life Journey
A guided meditation journey for a peaceful passing, with the intention of eliminating fear and anxiety.

Fee per session – £85.00 (2 hours + preliminary diagnostic work). Email sarah@sarahclifford.co.uk to book your session
